Electronic Bill Presentation and Payment

The Department of Water will be offering electronic billing and payment options for customers during the early part of next year (2001) through a company called Check Free. This service is being done through a partnership of the Honolulu Board of Water Supply and the Maui Department of Water Supply. Electronic bill presentation and payment (EBPP) is an Internet technology solution making it possible for customers to receive and pay their bills via the Internet using one or more of the following: personal financial management software, Internet portals and electronic banking systems. From your utility company to your dentist, you can pay everyone you pay now, with a click of a mouse.

You can receive your water bill electronically. Instead of getting a paper bill, your water bill can be sent to your Web billing and payment statement inbox. The bill/summary and or full detail are accessible right on your screen. After viewing, simply click your mouse to authorize payment, then store your bill for future reference.

The charges for these services will vary based on which institution chosen as the web site where you will receive and pay your bills. Rest assured that your on-line payments will be executed safely and reliably. This new service should be available at the beginning of next year.  Honolulu Board of Water Supply is currently in a pilot phase and are planning for a February 2001 start date.  We’ll keep you informed as this progresses.
