5:30 a.m. 12-11-2025 (UPDATE) – DOW crews are currently flushing the system. A water buffalo is available at Wailua Houselots Park, located at 4988 Nonou Road, Kapaa. Customers must bring their own water containers.

11:30 p.m. 12-10-2025 (UPDATE) – Emergency water service shutdown has been issued to repair a leak in the mainline. The affected area is a portion of Haleilio Road from the Sleeping Giant Trailhead to Kaulana Road, Kaulana Road, and a portion of Kihei Road. A water buffalo with potable water is available at Wailua Houselots Park located at 4988 Nonou Road, Kapaa. Customers must bring their own water containers. The repair is estimated to take approximately 5 hours and will require additional time for water to flow through the system. In addition, DOW will flush the lines through hydrants once the repair is completed and will return tomorrow for a second round of flushing and further troubleshooting of water pressure, as needed.

7:45 p.m. (UPDATE) – Potable water will be available by 8:30 p.m. at the Wailua Houselots Park at 4988 Nonou Road, Kapaa (location map provided below). Customers must bring their own water containers. A DOW plant crew is on-site troubleshooting pressure valves, and will return in the morning, as needed.

7:15 p.m. (UPDATE) – Water buffalo will be staged by 8:30 p.m. at the Wailua Houselots Park. Next update will be posted at 7:45 p.m.

6:25 p.m. (UPDATE) – A water buffalo will be deployed and is currently estimated to be staged by 9:30 p.m. More details, including a map of the water buffalo location, will be posted here within the next hour.
Affected areas are a portion of Haleilio Road from the Sleeping Giant Trailhead to Kaulana Road, Kaulana Road, and a portion of Kihei Road. The DOW Plant Crew is on-site and making further adjustments to the pressure valves. Customers continue to experience very low water pressure as the water slowly moves through the lines.

1:30 p.m. (UPDATE) – DOW is currently troubleshooting air in the water line which is causing periods of low water pressure for residents. In general, one reason pressure can fluctuate is when water flows in pipes that run cross valleys or up and down hills. Mahalo for your continued patience.

9 a.m. 12-10-2025 KAPA’A (Wailua Houselots) – Reports of low water pressure, or no water service for some customers near the Sleeping Giant Trailhead on Haleilio Road. This water line also services Kaulana Road, and Kihei Road. DOW crews have been dispatched to investigate the issue. Updates will be posted here.
