KAPAʻA – Kūhiō Highway

7:45 p.m. (FINAL UPDATE): The one-lane road closure has reopened on Kūhiō Highway between Uhelekawawa Canal Bridge and Hoi Road, in the vicinity of Safeway and Ross Dress for Less in Kapa’a, and water service has been fully restored to the affected customers. Mahalo for your patience!

4:35 p.m. (UPDATE) – Repairs have been completed, and DOW crews are now flushing the water system before water service is fully restored.

1:45 p.m. (UPDATE) – Water service shutdown has been extended, for approximately 2 hours, due to the discovery of a second leak in the line.

12:15 p.m. 08-11-2026 KAPAʻA – At 10:30 a.m., an emergency water service shutdown went into effect on a portion of Kūhiō Highway between Uhelekawawa Canal Bridge and Hoi Road, in the vicinity of Safeway and Ross Dress for Less. DOW crews responded to a break in a water line. Estimated repair work is expected to be completed by 2:30 p.m.
