6:00 a.m. 09-17-2026 (FINAL UPDATE) – The broken line was due to a contractor striking the mainline. DOW crews completed repair work on 09-16-2026 and water was restored.

10:20 p.m. (UPDATE) – Due to a broken water line, low pressure and water service outages are affecting portions of Kilauea. DOW crews will repair the line, and water is expected to be restored by approximately 2 a.m. on 09-17-2026.
