HANALEI – Vicinity of Ohiki Road, Kuhio Highway

9:20 a.m. (UPDATE) – Dependent on the curing process and any unforeseen issues, DOW crews estimate approximately 5 hours before valves can be reopened and system flushing can begin for the Ohiki Road area.

One lane remains in effect through the work zone on a portion of Kuhio Highway near The Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant. Motorists are asked to use caution in the area, watch for crews and equipment, and allow extra travel time. DOW crews continue efforts to reinforce the damaged water main. Road repair work will begin once the valves have been reopened.

7:20 a.m. 08-04-2026 HANALEI – A contractor struck a water main along Kuhio Highway in the vicinity of Ohiki Road. DOW crews have completed the repairs to the mainline and will begin additional work to reinforce it. Updates will be posted as they become available.
