HANALEI AND ʻANINI – Water conservation measures remain in place for residents on Kauaiʻs north shore.  Department of Water (DOW) customers in the Hanalei community and ʻAnini Beach areas are asked to continue conserving water due to a mechanical failure on the water system’s pump station that occurred back on April 4, 2025, which impacted the systemʻs water storage supply.  DOW officials are vigorously organizing the necessary contractor services and equipment to conduct the emergency work.

Customers are advised to limit water use to essential needs only to avoid a full water service outage.  Water conservation measures include turning off appliances and fixtures that automatically draw water such as ice machines and irrigation systems and refraining from car washing.

Weekly notices will continue to be provided via the Wireless Emergency Notification System (WENS), the countyʻs emergency notification system. To sign up, visit www.kauai.gov/KEMA and click “Notification Services.”  Monitor service updates online at www.kauaiwater.org
