UPDATE & REMINDER: Department of Water conducting test shutdown for emergency repair on Kuamoo Road on July 9

KAPAʻA (Wailua Homesteads) – The test shutdown will allow DOW crews to evaluate the system in preparation for future repair work on a water tank. Customers in the vicinity of Reservoir Dam Road and located on second floor units or structures, are most likely to experience intermittent water outages due to low water pressure while the booster pump is operating in low-frequency mode.

KAPAʻA (Wailua Homesteads) – The Department of Water (DOW) will conduct a test shutdown on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The affected area will include the upper portion of Kuamoo Road, extending north from Paako Street to Reservoir Dam Road, including all branching roads

The test shutdown will allow DOW crews to evaluate the system before future repair work by operating the booster pump in low-frequency mode to help supply water pressure to affected customers.

During the test shutdown, customers in the affected area may experience intermittent water outages, or fluctuations in water pressure, depending on water supply demand, and water pressure. Customers in the vicinity of Reservoir Dam Road are most likely to experience intermittent water outages.

Customers located in the affected areas are advised to prepare by taking the following steps:

-Store enough water to meet your needs during the shutdown.

-Notify family, friends, tenants, and neighbors.

-Ensure water heaters do not empty.

-Avoid using appliances that require water during the test shutdown.
