4 PM, June 17, UPDATE: Changes to intersection closures on Kūhiō Highway in Hanalei for June 18  

HANALEI – The Department of Water (DOW) announces that the planned intersection closure at Kūhiō Highway with ʻAnae Road, is cancelled.  The closure at the intersection of Kūhiō Highway with Mahimahi Road is still scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, weather permitting.    

REMINDER: Intersection closures on Kūhiō Highway at ʻAnae Road and Mahimahi Road in Hanalei scheduled for June 18 

HANALEI – The Department of Water (DOW) announces that the intersections of Kūhiō Highway with ʻAnae Road and Kūhiō Highway with Mahimahi Road will be closed to thru traffic from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, weather permitting.   

Motorists are advised to use Mālolo Road and Weke Road for entry and exit to ʻAnae Road and/or Mahimahi Road.  Kūhiō Highway will remain open during work hours but will be restricted to one lane, alternating traffic.   

The intersection closures are necessary for the installation of a new water line for the Hanalei Water Line Improvements Project.  This project will upgrade the water main infrastructure to meet current water system standards, including existing fire flow requirements.  

Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary intersection closures, and allow extra time to get to your destination.  Exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting in the vicinity of the work area. Follow the directions of flaggers and adhere to posted signs.
