REMINDER: DOW invites the public to discuss the Hanalei Water Line Improvements Project on June 10
LĪHUʻE – The Department of Water (DOW) reminds and invites the public to attend an upcoming event to discuss the Hanalei Water Line Improvements Project.
Join the DOW on Tuesday, June 10, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Hanalei Elementary School Cafeteria located at 5-5415 Kūhiō Highway in Hanalei. This community outreach will provide members of the public with the opportunity to review the project and share their feedback. Refreshments will be served.
The Hanalei Water Line Improvements Project involves the replacement of aging water main infrastructure to meet current water system standards, including fire flow requirements. Impacted areas will be the portion of Weke Road from ʻAnae Road to Mālolo Road; ʻAnae Road; Heʻe Road; and Mahimahi Road. Additionally, the intersections of Kūhiō Highway with ‘Anae Road and Mahimahi Road will be affected. The project will be carried out in two phases with Phase I commencing in mid-June 2025. Phase II will begin in the winter of 2025.
Please be advised that during the projectʻs working hours, there may be water service disruptions along with intermittent road and lane closures. Expect typical construction site occurrences, such as noise, vibration, and dust.
