Kūhiō Highway (Hardy-Oxford) Waterline Project on Sept. 22

LĪHUʻE – The Department of Water (DOW) will hold a public meeting regarding the Kūhiō Highway (Hardy-Oxford) Waterline Project. The meeting is scheduled for:  
 
Date: Monday, September. 22, 2025 
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 
Location: Department of Water (DOW) Board Room – 4398 Pua Loke Street in Līhuʻe 
 

The project involves the replacement of aging watermain infrastructure to meet current Water System Standards, including fire flow requirements. Impacted areas will include: 
– Kūhiō Highway from Hardy Street to Oxford Street 
– Poinciana Street from Kūhiō Highway to Jerves Street 
 
The project will be executed in two phases: 
– Phase I: Commencing early October 2025 
– Phase II: Beginning December 2025 

Please be advised that during the project’s working hours, there may be water service interruptions along with intermittent road and lane closures. Additionally, typical construction site occurrences such as noise, vibration and dust can also be expected.
