June 10, UPDATE: Water conservation request continues for Hanalei and ʻAnini
HANALEI AND ʻANINI – The water conservation request for Department of Water (DOW) customers in the Hanalei community and ʻAnini beach areas remains in place. The request continues to ask customers to conserve water to maintain water services and avoid a full water service outage.
DOW has secured a contractor to perform the repair and replacement of equipment at the pump station. The necessary components have been manufactured and are currently in transit to Kauaʻi. Once these parts are received, work will commence.
DOW thanks customers for their continued conservation efforts and cooperation. Water conservation measures include turning off appliances and fixtures that automatically draw water such as ice machines and irrigation systems and refraining from car washing.
Weekly notices will continue to be provided via the Wireless Emergency Notification System (WENS), the County’s emergency notification system. To sign up, visit www.kauai.gov/KEMA and click “Notification Services.” Monitor service updates online at www.kauaiwater.org.
