DOW partners with KEMA for disaster preparedness presentation at Kōloa Public & School Library
KŌLOA – To kick off the start of the 2025 hurricane season, the Department of Water (DOW) has partnered with the Kauaʻi Emergency Management Agency (KEMA) to offer a presentation on disaster preparedness titled “Disaster Preparedness: Ready, Set, Go!” The presentation will be held at the Kōloa Public & School Library on Thursday June 12, 2025 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
“DOW is excited to collaborate with KEMA, the authoritative agency for emergency preparedness on Kauaʻi,” said Jason Fujinaka, Public Information Officer at DOW. “Together, we will educate and raise awareness on the importance of being ready in the event of an emergency.”
The DOW and KEMA will provide information on how residents should properly prepare for disaster emergencies. Attendees will learn how to create an individual emergency plan, how to assemble an emergency preparedness kit, and how to put safety tips into action. Additionally, each participant will go home with a complimentary, 20-liter water storage container.
