Department of Water announces a scheduled water service interruption on Kuamoo Road on July 22

KAPAʻA (Wailua Homesteads) – The Department of Water (DOW) has scheduled the repair work on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.  The affected area will include the upper portion of Kuamoo Road, from Paako Street to Reservoir Dam Road, including branching roads.

DOW crews will perform repair work on a water tank. DOW’s booster pump will be operating in low-frequency mode to help supply water pressure to affected customers.

During the repair work, customers in the affected area may experience intermittent water outages, or fluctuations in water pressure depending on water supply demand.  Customers in the vicinity of Reservoir Dam Road, Kimo Drive and located on second floor units or structures are most likely to experience intermittent water outages.  Two water buffaloes, providing potable (drinking) water, will be provided near 6805 Kimo Drive, and 7401 Kuamoo Road. Customers must bring their own water containers.    

Customers located in the affected areas are advised to prepare by taking the following steps:

-Store enough water to meet your needs during the repair work.
-Notify family, friends, tenants, and neighbors in the affected area.
-Ensure water heaters do not empty.
-Avoid using appliances that require water during the repair work.
