UPDATE: Kawaihau Road one-lane closures for emergency water service repair on August 6

KAPAʻA – The emergency expanded lane closure area on Kawaihau Road on August 6 has concluded, and normal one-lane closure operations have resumed for ongoing road utility work.

Normal one-lane closures remain in effect on a portion of Kawaihau Road, from the intersection of Kaapuni Road to Kapahi Road, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, August 1-31, 2026.

KAPAʻA – Effective immediately, there is a one-lane closure on a portion of Kawaihau Road, from the intersection of Kaapuni Road to Kapahi Road. Emergency water service repair work is underway.

At 7:10 a.m. an issue occurred with one of the water line connections, and an emergency water service shutdown went into effect, repairs are underway. Water is expected to be off for approximately 3-4 hours.

Water service is normal and remains stable at both Kapaa Elementary School and Kapaa High School.

Updates will be posted as they become available at www.kauaiwater.org.

Traffic Advisory

Traffic control personnel and flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic and help maintain safe passage through the area.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra travel time.
