Kawaihau Road utility work and one-lane closures for August 1-31

KAPAʻA – Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co., under contract with the Department of Water, will be performing utility and excavation work along Kawaihau Road, from the intersection of Kaapuni Road to Kapahi Road. One-lane road closures will occur on portions of the road, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.

The lane closures are necessary to allow the contractor to perform utility work and excavation associated with the Kapa’a Homesteads Tanks project.

Utility Work and Road Closures

– Dates: August 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026
– Location: Kawaihau Road, from Kaapuni Road to Kapahi Road
– Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Traffic Advisory

– Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra travel time.
– Traffic control personnel and flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic and help maintain safe passage through the area.
– No parking will be allowed in the designated work zones.
