Water service shutdown scheduled on a portion of Hauaala Road (valley side) in Kapaʻa on September 11, 2025

KAPAʻA – A water service shutdown has been scheduled on a portion of Hauaala Road (valley side) Makamaka Street and Keapana Road on Thursday, September 11, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., weather permitting.

The purpose of the shutdown is to allow the Department of Water (DOW) to perform a pressure reducing valve replacement on a waterline in the area.

Customers located in the affected area are advised to prepare for the water service shutdown by taking the following steps:

Store enough water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.

Notify family, friends, tenants and neighbors.

Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the shutdown.

Appliances that require water should not be used during the shutdown.
